TSU Tiger Club Frequently Asked Questions

1. Question: What is the annual financial commitment/donation per member in the TSU Tiger Club, and what percentage of member donations are allocated for TSU sports?

 

         Answer:  The TSU Tiger Club ask for a commitment of $1,000.00 a year from its members.  One hundred percent, 100%, of all member donations is used for TSU NCAA Division I sports donation request.
 

 

2. Question:  What if a $1,000.00 commitment/donation a year is a hardship for me?

 

         Answer:  At times, hardships come upon all of us so we ask for no less than $250.00 a year when that occurs, if possible.

 

3. Question: What is the due date for the financial commitment/donation?

 
 

         Answer:  There is no due date for the annual commitment/donation. A member has the entire calendar year to make their commitment/donation.
 

 

4. Question:  What if sending in the financial commitment/donation all at once is a problem for me?

 

          Answer: All of the $1,000.00 does not have to be paid all at once. It can be paid in installments throughout the calendar year. Many of the members choose to handle it that way.
 

 
5. Question: Who do I contact when I’m ready to make my financial commitment/donation? 

 

          Answer:  All members are informed and encouraged to make arrangements with TSU Athletic Business Manager Christopher LeBlanc, phone #: 713-313-7216, to make their donations (https://tsusports.com/staff-directory/chris-leblanc/236). This practice ensures the donor that his or her donation went where they intended for it to go, that it is recorded as alumni giving in the TSU Development Office, and that the donor receives an official tax -deductible receipt from Texas Southern University.

 
 

6. Question: How often does the TSU Tiger Club meet?

 

         Answer:    Once a year for one hour. Usually, the meeting is held in the month of April or May.
 

 

7. Question: How and when does the TSU Tiger Club determine and approve a donation request for one or more of the TSU sports programs?

 

        Answer:  A vote is conducted for every reasonable donation request received from any head coach, of any sport, at Texas Southern University.  A donation request is approved when a simple majority of the membership has voted yea (half of the membership +1). 
 

 

8. Question:  What method/medium is used to conduct a TSU Tiger Club vote?

 

           Answer:  Usually, votes are conducted via text or email to expedite matters.

 
 

9. Question: What other important requirement is needed for a person to become a TSU Tiger Club member?

 

           Answer:  Besides the annual financial commitment/donation, contact information is the only other requirement.  A member's contact information is how The TSU Tiger Club keeps each member abreast of the annual meeting, send updates, canvass for votes and conduct votes.
 

 

10. Question: If my contact information changes after I become a TSU Tiger Club member what shall I do? 

 

           Answer:  Inform the TSU Tiger Club liaison when there has been a change to your contact information.  The liaison will record your updated information to make certain you remain aware of votes and meetings.
